Description
Cologne is facing the major challenge of significantly reducing the share of car traffic. Public transport and the network of cycle paths are to be expanded in order to encourage Cologne residents to switch to environmentally friendly modes of transport. Although initial changes can be seen, much of it seems piecemeal and the pace is too slow. Tim Attenberger, local editor of the Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger, discusses the issue with Ascan Egerer, head of the city's transportation department, and Bicycle Mayor Reinhold Goss, co-initiator of "Ring frei".
