E-Districts on Site – Highlights from the Field

This session and the subsequent panel discussion "Neighborhood solutions for the energy transition" will focus on options for action at the neighborhood level. We want to explore which small-scale potentials can be leveraged for the decentralized energy transition through coupling with the transport sector.

This first session will present best practice examples on the topic across Germany. We are pleased that this program item will take place in cooperation with NOW GmbH, whose event format "E-Quartiers vor Ort - Blitzlichter aus der Praxis" allows for a practical and open knowledge transfer. Therefore, in addition to NOW GmbH moderating this session, "E-Quartiere vor Ort" will even be streamed via the NOW channel, live from polisMOBILITY this time.

Interest in the topic area of e-quarters is very high throughout Germany. The problem pressure in (dense) neighborhoods is now immense: competing uses for public street space combined with challenges around the integration of electromobility in the form of mobility offers and charging infrastructure create conflicting goals and different problem situations. Targeted, innovative and courageous solutions and approaches are needed here. There are already various promising approaches to this throughout Germany. These best-practice-examples are the focus of the NOW format "E-Quartiers vor Ort - Blitzlichter aus der Praxis".
