About Prof. Dr. Uwe Schneidewind
Uwe Schneidewind has been Lord Mayor of the City of Wuppertal since November 2020. From 2010 to 2020, he was President and Scientific Director of the Wuppertal Institute and Professor of Innovation Management and Sustainability at the Department of Economics at the University of Wuppertal. Prior to this, he was Dean and then President of the University of Oldenburg. He completed his doctorate and habilitation at the University of St. Gallen. In addition to past memberships of the German Advisory Council on Global Change (WBGU) and the University Council of the University of Kassel, he is a member of the Club of Rome.
