KNUT keeps on driving!
More than 1,700 people use the on-demand service in the north of Frankfurt every month, and Head of Mobility Siefert wants to continue the popular KNUT project as part of the mobility turnaround and ensure that state subsidies are maintained. The idea is for KNUT to replace night-time services on certain lines in order to increase efficiency and secure funding. Practical implementation issues will be examined before the Supervisory Board meeting in June and the involvement of the local councils is planned. The continuation of KNUT is also supported by other RMV municipalities, whereby autonomous on-demand mobility is seen as a supplement to local public transport. The aim is to make KNUT available daily from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. and to take over the existing night-time services on certain lines during the night.
