How are you and your members promoting the decarbonisation of mobility?

Cities and municipalities are often pioneers in sustainable mobility and set a good example themselves, for example in the field of electromobility. As an umbrella organisation for local authorities, we are committed to improving local authority funding and a suitable funding landscape so that local authorities can invest in sustainable mobility infrastructure.

Why are you involved as a core partner for polisMOBILITY?

The German Association of Towns and Municipalities is involved as a partner of polisMOBILITY, as the event promotes the exchange of experiences among municipalities. The congress trade fair also offers a good platform for disseminating successful examples of implementation and new concepts for shaping mobility.

What impetus do you hope polisMOBILITY will provide for the transport transition in cities and municipalities?

polisMOBILITY uses concretely implemented projects in the municipalities to show how the mobility transition can succeed in both cities and rural areas. In this respect, the event can also increasingly serve to inform and convince political decision-makers not to let up on promoting sustainable mobility. This is particularly important in times of tight federal, state and local government budgets.
