The event
Today, modern, networked mobility services are more dependent than ever on data. Sustainable traffic planning, targeted traffic control or individual choice of means of transport are just three examples that cannot do without reliable access to data, including real-time data. Therefore, the Federal Ministry of Digital Affairs and Transport is currently developing a new uniform, secure and efficient access to mobility data: the Mobilithek. The Mobilithek will be the central platform for exchanging digital information between mobility providers, infrastructure operators, public authorities as well as information providers. In this context, the Mobilithek also assumes the role of National Access Point (NAP) for mobility data, in accordance with the Delegated Regulations to the European ITS Directive as well as the amended Passenger Transportation Act.
The Bundesanstalt für Straßenwesen (BASt) is part of the project management for the Mobilithek. In this session, it will present the background, goals and features of the new platform, and give a review of the predecessor platform, the Mobility Data Marketplace (MDM). Other exciting contributions will come from the "MDM User Group", an initiative of dedicated users of the MDM or, in the future, the Mobilithek. The MDM User Group will present selected data-based pilot projects in German municipalities and regions. Overall, the session will give a comprehensive overview of how mobility data and data platforms provide for modern mobility management and smart mobility.
